Ukraine increased the area of vineyards to 77 hectares in 2013 Also, in 2013 the export cognac and brandy increased almost in one third. At the same time, imports of grapes and wine is reduced, which is a positive indicator for the industry.
According to the Head of the Department, as of 1 January 2014, the area of vineyards in Ukraine is 64.2 thousand hectares of households, 77.6 thousand hectares of farms. Most vineyards are currently in Crimea - 25 thousand hectares, and in the Odessa area - 25.5 thousand hectares.
Moreover, the export of wine, cognac and brandy increased in 2013 to 2012. In particular, exports of cognac and brandy increased by 30%. Thus, according to Alexander Demidov, imports of grapes reduced in 2013.
"The large-scale exhibition of winemaking in the Russian Federation with the major manufacturers of the industry, Ukraine is at 4-5-th position, but before that was at 6-8th" - said Alexander Demidov.
