The Armed Forces are involved

The Speaker of the Vertkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Acting President Alexander Turchninov announced at the VR meeting a beginning of the anti-terrorist operation. He thinks it will be a step-by-step and well-weighted operation, ЛІГАБізнесІнформ reports.

Mr. Turchinov underscored that apart from the Russian special tactics forces and terrorists, hundreds of Ukrainian citizens, “swindled and duped by the Russian propaganda”, as well as ordinary peaceful citizens are involved in the events taken place in the eastern region of Ukraine.  The main task of the anti-terrorist operation is to protect these people and eliminate the threat.

In connection with the said above, he denounced the attempts to block the sessions of the Verkhovna Rada and called to those seeking heroism to enlist in the police in the eastern regions that is renewing its composition or in the Ukraine’s National Guard or Ukrainian army. "But smashing the windows of the administrative building of the Verkhovna Rada - is not heroism, this is merely a crime against the state", - he added.

It is worth noting that Ukraine has announced a launch of a large-scale anti-terrorist operation with the participation of its Armed Forces. On Sunday Acting President Turchinov signed the Directive enforcing the decision passed by the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine as regards conducting the anti-terrorist special operation in Ukraine, the content of which is not being divulged. The military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine put on the highest state of alert.

Since April 10 the separatists have begun to seize and occupy, according to a plan, the local administrative buildings in the eastern regions of Ukraine, ministerial buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security Service of Ukraine, with intention to seize the arms kept there.
