In the coming days, the loan agreement will be signed between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank, which value is €200 million (some 3.76 billion hryvnias) to be spent on restoration of the utilities infrastructure systems in Donbas, said Vice Prime-Minister – Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing & Utilities Gennady Zubko, according to the information from the ministerial department.
He also reminded that 375 million hryvnias were spent by the government for this purpose in November, with 150 million hryvnias out of which – to revamp the infrastructure in Luhansk oblast, the remaining bailout money – in Donetsk oblast.
Gennady Zubko noted that these funds will be allocated by the citizens themselves, in the territory of which the infrastructure items, social networks or utilities infrastructure systems have been damaged.
“Each community will independently define what objects should be funded and what should be revamped, first of all”, - said the Vice Prime-Minister. He stated that the bailout funds will be used efficiently, as maximum as possible, for the benefit of people residing in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
