The Kyiv city administration proposes to levy a 1% property tax on real property located in the capital, said First Deputy Chair of the KCA Іhor Nikonov at the round-table talks, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“As regards the property tax ... We think that given that people face financial hardship, we won’t set up the maximum rate, we’ll allocate the tax rate of 1%. This is, so to speak, a compromise between common sense and urge for funding local government and actual state of affairs today”, - said Nikonov.
Meantime, in his opinion, it is necessary to introduce the system to estimate the value of property to help ensure impartial taxation.
Besides, the KCA offers to give social security benefits to families with many children in order to lessen the tax burden.
“Concerning our project, we propose: if somebody has three children or more, then every 20 meters per child should be untaxed. Thus, we’ll compensate expenses the families with many children might bear”, - advised Nikonov.
