In Kyiv, on February 24, the insolvency practitioner was detained for suspicion of exacting bribes for conveyance of the property of bankrupt enterprise, the police press-service reports on Thursday.
The detainee is suspected of accepting the bribe, amounting to UAH 1.2 mln. He was hiding the obtained funds in his garage.
Pursuant to current legislation, in case of bankruptcy of the legal entity the court appoints the insolvency practitioner, which disposes of the bankrupt’s property. He can also hold auctions.
According to the police, the detainee required the bribe for winning the auction on the conclusion of the agreement of sale and purchase of the property, notarial certification and signing the document of conveyance.
The exactor was detained at his workplace. During the search of the garage and at the place of residence the law enforcement officers confiscated the funds (UAH 1.2 mln), gun, machine gun and bullets.
