The government has dismissed the acting board chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia Alexander Zavhorodnii, Ukrainian news reports.
The agency’s order contained a copy of the collective deputies’ appeal, which was signed by 29 deputies, to the Prime Minister, General Prosecutor, SSSU Chief Executive and NABU Chief Executive on Zavhorodnii’s major abuses.
The document refers to the cooperation of railway with companies and banks, related to the family of ex-President Victor Yanukovych. In particular, SC “Dominanta”, the payments of which made up UAH 414 mln for IV quarter of 2015, “Euroinveststroy” – UAH 14 mln in February 2016.
It is also informed that Zavhorodnii abused his office and was in cahoots with the CEO of Zaporizhzhia Electrical Installation Plant, who transferred UAH 398 mln to the accounts of this enterprise in 2015. Besides it, the deputies accuse the rail man in direct corruption – companies, related to Zavhorodnii’s son and brother, have contractor’s agreements with Zavhorodnii.
The criminal cases have been initiated based on facts, described in the deputies’ appeal. This served as the reason for the resignation of the acting board chairman Zavhorodnii.
As Correspondent.net reported, David Sakvarelidze, who was previously dismissed from the General Prosecutor’s Office said that he was offered a bribe for “protection” of trade with oil products.
