The Verkhovna Rada proposes to strengthen capabilities of the National Anticorruption Bureau in fighting with corruption among high ranking state officials, UNIAN reports.
The relevant draft law “On Introduction of Amendment to Article 263 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine regarding granting the right to departments of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine for retrieval of information from transport telecommunication networks” was registered in the parliament under №4721.
According to Pavel Rizanenko, the initiator of the draft law, the people’s deputy from “Block of Petro Poroshenko”, the document stipulates strengthening of institutional capabilities of NABU in fighting with corruption, specifically, in terms of those violations, which were committed by National Police high ranking officials or SSSU’s top-level officers.
“The draft law grants the right to authorized NABU departments for retrieval of information from transport telecommunication networks without engaging the employees of departments of the National Police and security agencies for covert surveillance”, the deputy noted.
In particular, it is proposed to set forth that the retrieval of information from transport telecommunication networks (Internet, telephone) is also attached to authorized departments of the NABU, except for authorized departments of the National Police and security bodies,.
According to the author of draft law, its approval will further strengthening of institutional capabilities of the NABU in fighting with corruption, which will allow its detectives to conduct pretrial investigation with higher efficiency as soon as possible.
