It is noted that by 2020 the gas extraction should increase not less than 7.5 billion cubic meters, UNIAN reports.
Ukraine intends to fully cross over to domestic gas production and to refuse from import by 2020, Minister of Energy and Coal Mining Ihor Nasalyk said during the Energy Congress.
“We intend to fudge on this loop, finishing everything with refusal from importing gas in 4.5 years”, - the Minister said.
According to Nasalyk, the gas production should increase not less than 7.5 billion cubic meters by 2020.
As UNIAN reported, in the first quarter of 2016 the state energy holding “Naftogaz of Ukraine” imported the natural gas from EU countries at the average-weighted price of USD 198 per thousand cubic meters, which is by 34% less that in the first quarter of 2015. In this period the main suppliers were Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. According to Nasalyk, Ukraine will renew gas import from Russia only in case if “Gazprom” offers acceptable prices for fuel.
For the next heating season Ukraine intends to pump gas to underground gas storages about 8.2 billion of cubic meters.
