The funds are allocated for refugees from Donbass, Correpondent.net reports.
Vatican will allocate several millions euros of aid to victims of violence in the eastern part of Ukraine, Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin told in Zaporizhzhia.
The campaign is called “Pope for Ukraine”, as the funds were raised upon the initiative of the Pope Francis.
According to Parolin, the funds are allocated for refugees, who left their homes, to citizens of the so-called “grey zone” close to the line of military clashes, to people, who stay at the territory, uncontrolled by Ukrainian authorities. The funds will be allocated, first of all, for children, the aged, single-parent families with small children, the person, who lost home, the wounded and those, who were tortured.
“We will start from the necessary aid: food, water, clothes, medicine, roof over head”, Parolin said.
The allocation of aid will involve charity organizations of the Catholic church as well as humanitarian organizations.
