The office will start operating since September. Deputy Minister of Finance Oksana Makarova will coordinate it.

In September in Ukraine the Investment Support Office will start operating with financial support of direct investment funds of Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF, created in 1994 with the capital of $150 mln, vested by US government), Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman said during the government session, Correspondent.net reports.

“The purpose is to create the entrance for attraction of investments”, he said.

According to him, this office will cooperate with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with trade representations, i.e. with all institutes, which are involved in the economic life of Ukraine.

“Separately I wanted to say that we will interact with business associations, including international - US Chamber of Commerce, European Business Association, Embassies”, the Prime Minister emphasized.

Hroisman explained that the authorized person will be appointed for coordination of work of the created office with government, ministries and other authorities. The government confirmed this status for First Deputy Minister of Finance Oksana Makarova, who worked for 17 years in investment business, in particular in WNISEF fund, before joining the Ministry of Finance in early 2015.

Previously the Ministry of Economy informed that as per results of five months of the current year Ukraine already obtained 1.8 bln of foreign investments versus USD 400 mln for the same period of the previous year.
