Naftogaz expects to sign the supplementary agreement with Gazprom on gas supplies.

On August 26 Naftogaz of Ukraine intends to submit to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce the information on the facts of violation by Gazprom of the conditions of transit contract, which had place in July 2016.

“On August 26 Naftogaz will submit the last so-called list of all informational materials for arbitrage on our claim on natural gas transit. This is the moment, when we can submit materials, of course, these data will be included and taken into account in these materials. Our lawyers already work on this matter”, he said.

According to Kobolev, the refusal of Gazprom to sign the supplementary agreement on gas supplies is the sign of unfriendly and uncommercial behavior.

“The problem is that Gazprom refused to sign the supplementary agreement for the third quarter, which is absolutely necessary for these supplies to have place. And the matter is not in price”, he said.

The Chairman of Naftogaz reminded that Gazprom already signed such agreements at least three times.

“The gas was supplied under such agreements in winter 2014-2015, in summer 2015 and last winter. This time Gazprom unexpectedly refused. We consider it to be the sign of unfriendly and uncommercial behavior”, Kobolev noted.

Naftogaz expects to sign the supplementary agreement with Gazprom for gas supplies after the decision of Stockholm arbitrage. “After the completion of arbitrage (in Stockholm), we expect that Gazprom will change its behavior or will be obliged to do it after the judge’s decision”, Kobolev emphasized, Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev said to 5 Channel on Thursday, August 18.
