Protocol signed
18 June 2013 as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine, in the presence of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine R. Demchenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus V. Makey signed the Protocol on the Exchange of Ratifications of the Treaty between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus on the state border that was signed 12 May 1997 in Kyiv, which was a prerequisite for entry into force of the Treaty, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Belarus is the last neighboring country with whom an agreement on the delimitation of joint border enters into legal force. Thereby Ukraine has made another practical step toward implementation of the action plan for visa liberalization with the EU.
