Dmitry Medvedev signed the order on termination of intergovernmental agreement, INTERFAX.RU reports.
RF Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the order on termination of intergovernmental agreement with Ukraine on cooperation while operating main oil products pipelines, Russian government’s site reports.
«In accordance with Article 37 of the Federal Law On International Agreements of the Russian Federation, to accept the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Ministry of Energy of Russia on termination of the Agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of Ukraine on cooperation while operating main oil products pipelines, which was signed in Moscow on July 26, 1995. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia to notify the Ukrainian Side about the decision taken», as reported in the document.
The agreement stipulated that oil product pipelines Samara – Western Direction and Grozny-Armavir-Trudovaya, passing through the territory of Ukraine, are operated by subsidiary companies Transnefteproduct JSC (100% ordinary shares of Transnefteproduct JSC vested in the authorized capital of Transneft PJSC).
The agreement regulated some aspects of operation of these main oil product pipelines. In February 2016, the sections, located on the territory of Ukraine, were sold by Transneft PJSC to Swiss International Trading Partners AG. The transaction was approved by the FAS of Russia on 16 October 2015 and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on 22 December 2015.
«In this regard, the participation of Russia in the agreement is impracticable», as it is said in the order.
