The superskyscraper, as high as 458 meters, will be erected in Manhattan’s center. The building named One Vanderbilt will be by 15 meters higher than Empire State Building, the visiting card of New York, Krysha.kz reports.
As soon as the building height is gained, it will fall into four levels in the form of rectangular block. The highest peak will be the roof-mounted spire.
The author of the project is US studio Kohn Pedersen Fox, and the developer – SL Green Corporation, which owns 119 buildings in Manhattan. In order to erect this building, the corporation took a loan, amounting to USD 1.5 bln.
In addition, it is planned to allocate the additional funds, amounting to $220 mln, for modernization of the public transport in this district. As One Vanderbilt is built on the intersection of Madison Avenue and 42nd Street, opposite to New York’s Central Railway Station, the skyscraper will be closely integrated with the transport system of the city. According to the plan, metropolis citizens and guests will be able to easily get to the railway station and metro through underground floors of the skyscraper.
The construction of the building started in this August. As of today, the construction pit has been dug, and in early 2017, the construction of aboveground floors will start. The commissioning of One Vanderbilt is scheduled for 2020.
