The government took the decision on reduction of the contest funding on October 19.
Now, the government estimate is UAH 430.62 mln.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reduced the expenses for preparation and organization of Eurovision Song Contest 2017 by UAH 19.38 mln, as it is said in the resolution №750 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated October 19, published on the governmental portal. The authorities reduced the funds, allocated to the State Television and Radiobroadcasting Committee for financing the preparation and organization of the contest, from UAH 450 mln to UAH 430.62 mln, Correspondent reports.
In the letter, attached to the resolution, it is specified that this decision “will ensure that State Television and Radiobroadcasting Committee will return the remaining funds, amounting to UAH 19.38 mln, to the reserve fund of the state budget”.
As Correspondent.net reported, the estimated return on Eurovision-2017 will amount to UAH 600 mln. In addition, the total expenses for organization of the international contest in Kyiv will make up UAH 1.2 bln.
