The warning campaign “Utility Rates Opposition”, in which more than 100 ths people participated, was conducted on the central areas of 11 cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskiy, Zaporizhyzhya, Sumy and Mariupol), the press-office of PC “Public Audit” reports.
“More than 30 ths signatures under the Manifest for decreasing utility rates have been collected and other dozens of thousands of people signed its electronic version. The Manifest contains the appeal of the citizens of Ukraine to the President, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the claim to set fair, but not twice increased, rates. It is necessary to cancel gas rent for people and VAT in the rate price, which will immediately lead to the decrease of gas price and rate twice”, one of the organizers of protest campaign Maxim Goldarb said.
Co-initiator of “Utility Rates Opposition” Evgeniy Muraev submitted the relevant legislative initiative – draft law № 5290 (on the introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine On Natural Gas Market).
