Action plan elaborated at the Ministry
The Ministry of Revenue and Duties approved a five-year development strategy, developed jointly with consultants at Price Waterhouse Coopers. This was announced during a press conference by Minister Oleksandr Klymenko.
«No organization can operate without a specific action plan and understanding its objectives and prospects. Therefore, we have identified seven strategic areas of work for the Ministry. For each of them we appointed responsible persons and methods of assessing the degree of implementation of tasks», said O. Klymenko.
He said the efforts of the Ministry will focus on the development of tax and customs services, establishing partnerships with citizens and businesses, as well as creating efficient methods to combat minimizing taxes and the shadow economy.
Another strategic focus is the development of international trade, proper implementation of provisions of the Customs Code and the standards of the World Customs Organization, improved efficiency of customs control, customs infrastructure development.
«The strategy was presented at the National Forum of Ministry workers on 6 July. Every employee of the Ministry - from executives to ordinary clerks - clearly understands priorities, methods and benchmarks. We have been doing and are still doing everything possible to make sure everybody realizes their role in implementation of strategic objectives and their personal responsibility for joint success» - Klymenko said.
