Today at a press briefing the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul said that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans increasing the number of people employed in tourism industry in Ukraine, up to 1 million people by 2022.
"By 2022 the number of jobs in this field will increase by 2.5 times - up to 1 million people", - said Vilkul.
He added that the share of tourism in GDP should amount to 10%.
"It's very important impact on GDP. According to the World Tourism Organization today about 2.5% of Ukraine's GDP is generated or with tourism or with related industries. In European countries, there is a practice of 10%, we will also set ourselves with the following objectives" - said Vilkul.
