On Monday, US President Donald Trump and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel discussed the bilateral relationships and actual problems of international security, Correspondent.net reports quoting Reuters and the White House.
It is noted that the leaders discussed the conflicts in Syria and Yemen as well as actual security threats from the North Korea.
The White House emphasized that Trump acknowledged the support of the efforts of Germany and France in conducting negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, based on Minsk agreements.
Previously, during the phone conversation with President Petro Poroshenko, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson assured that the USA will not lift sanctions from Russia until the return of the Crimea to Ukraine and complete fulfilment of Minsk agreements.
