Adventurer with tax code violations of nearly 1 million UAH exposed
During cameral inspection officers of the STS Holosiivskii district determined the instance of tax evasion. The citizen of Ukraine reportedly sold his corporate rights to a foreign company for almost 6 million UAH and decided to avoid taxation by any means, as reported by the tax body’s press service.
When filling the tax return for property status and income, he significantly overestimated his expenses, leading to an understatement of the tax amount. Happy with his resourcefulness, this citizen did not take into account that under the Tax Code of Ukraine, in case of receiving by an individual resident of income from overseas sources of payment, such as income from the sale of investment assets, including corporate rights, the amount of such income shall be included in the total annual taxpayer's taxable income and taxed at rates of 15 (17) %. That is, in the case receiving foreign income the entire amount of income shall be taxable.
Having realized the futility of his machinations, this person was able to say only that he strongly disagrees with the results of inspection.
Thus, the last word on the results of inspection had the officers at the Ministry of Revenues, and the Ukrainian will still have to give to the budget 1 million UAH.
Moreover, the «creative approach» to filling out the returns has cost the citizen initiated criminal proceedings for Part 1 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
