From September 1, the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement came into force in its entirety, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman wrote in Facebook, EP reports.
“I congratulate all Ukrainians with a new milestone on our way to EU. Today, the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement comes into force. It is an extremely important stage of bilateral relationships”, the Prime Ministe.
“However, the economic part of the Agreement was valid for more than half a year – regarding the free trade area between Ukraine and European Union. I am happy to note that during this time, EU became the main trade partner of our country”, Groisman noted.
The Prime Minister stated that currently, the trade with EU countries makes up 41.1% from the total amount of foreign goods trade, and during the first half year of 2017, the export of goods and services to EU increased by 22.8% versus the same period of 2016 and totaled USD 9.4 bln.
