Karpliuk violated safety rules at the construction site, which resulted in fatality – the prosecutor’s office.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv region served with charges to Irpin’s mayor Vladimir KArpliuk due to the tragic incident at his private firm in 2011, according to the press office of the prosecutor’s office, UA1 reports.
It was established that Karpliuk, being the director of a construction company Sarafan, did not care about labor protection of hired workers and used the building crane without necessary permits.
As the result of the incident, the workers from Rivne region were hurt, one of whom died, the other was severely injured.
Irpin’s mayor is suspected of committing the crime, stipulated by p.2 of art.272 (violation of safety rules, related to high-risk operations).
The official will be punishable by restraint of liberty for a term up to five years, or imprisonment for a term up to eight years.
It was previously reported that Irpin’s mayor and his Bucha’s colleague Anatolii Fedorchuk are suspected of embezzlement of 890 hectares of forest.
