The average pension in Ukraine will increase by almost UAH 700 – up to UAH 2.5 ths.
The reform will allow raising pensions for nine million Ukrainians, Correspodent.net reports.
The law on raising pensions, launching the so-called pension reform, came into force on Wednesday, October 11, after the respective publication in the official edition of the parliament “Golos Ukrainy” (Voice of Ukraine).
According to the law, the provisions on raising pension became effective since October 1, 2017. As Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman told, until October 25, the Ukrainian pensioners will obtain recalculated pensions.
According to President Petro Poroshenko, the reform will allow raising pensions for 9 mln Ukrainians.
It should be reminded that on October 3, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the pension reform, which provides for updating pensions from October and raising the minimum pension insurance record from 15 to 25 years from January 1, 2018. In three days, the President signed this law.
