The candidates for post of NBU Governor include acting NBU Governor Smolii and Chairman of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank Aval Lavrenchuk, Deputy Head of Block of Petro Poroshneko Igor Kononenko told quoting Interfax-Ukraine, ET reports.
“The consultations are being conducted on the National Bank. As of today, there are several candidates. The most known are acting NBU Governor Smolii and Mr. Lavrenchuk”, he said.
Kononenko reminded that the President conducts consultations.
“I hope that the consultation will be completed by the end of the year… and the candidate will be selected as per our voting”, he added.
Reportedly, Gontareva reported her resignation and submitted the respective application to the President of Ukraine on April 10.
Gontareva finished her work at the National Bank on May 11, and does not plan to return to the post of NBU Governor.
As of the end of September, the President considered 2 candidates for appointing as NBU Governor – Smolii and Vladimir Lavrenchuk.
