State Statistics Service reports on inflation
According to the State Statistics Service, inflation in Ukraine in October 2013 and September was 0.4%. However, according to the report, since the beginning of the year, consumer prices fell by 0.2%, RBC-Ukraine reports.
In the consumer market in October, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.6%. The most significant (11.5% and 7.2%) increase concerned eggs and vegetables. Prices on milk, butter, lard, dairy products, cheese, sour cream, sugar increased by (2.2-0.5%). At the same time fruits, sunflower oil, refined cereals, rice, pasta, meat, fish and fish products got 2.3-0.2% cheaper.
Prices for alcoholic drinks and tobacco rose by 0.5%.
The rise in prices (tariffs) for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.1% is primarily due to higher prices for liquefied petroleum gas (2.4%).
In health care there was an increase in prices of 0.4%, including hospital services going up by 0.5%, pharmaceutical products - by 0.4%, outpatient services - by 0.2%.
Higher prices for transport as a whole by 0.2% is mainly due to the rise in price for motor vehicles, passenger transportations by rail and road transport (by 1.1-0.4%).
