During the meeting with President Petro Poroshenko in Davos, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde encouraged Kyiv to speed the pace of reforms for the economic growth and increasing the living standards, according to Lagarde’s statement as the result of the meeting, Ukrainian News reports.
“I confirmed again that IMF is ready to continue supporting Ukraine together with other international partners in its efforts on implementation of reforms. I also emphasized that Ukraine has to use the favorable external environment for speeding up the reforms and transition to the stronger growth, required for the sustainable improvement of living standards of the population”, Lagarde noted.
“The meeting with President Poroshenko and members of his team was very productive and pleasant. It gave us a chance to discuss all the measures, which are already taken, and we hope that our discussion will contribute to implementation of other measures, which we spoke about. We spoke that a new NBU governor will be appointed in Ukraine”, she added.
As Ukrainian News reported, Poroshenko conducted negotiations with IMF Managing Director Lagarde in Davos.
