The other day, Ukrzaliznytsia and General Electric signed the framework agreement for 1 bln dollars. During 15 years, the company will modernize up to 75 locomotives and deliver up to 225 diesel locomotives Evolution in Ukraine. At the first stage, GE will deliver 30 cargo diesel locomotives TE33A for 140 mln dollars, Segodnya reports.
Thus, one locomotive will cost 4.66 mln dollars. It is not higher than the price, at which General Electric delivered similar locomotives to other countries, the acting director of Ukrzaliznytsia Evgeny Kravtsov assures.
The level of localization will make up 10%. That is, one locomotive will have some details of Ukrainian production, amounting to 466 ths dollars. At the second stage, they want to increase the level of localization up to 40%.
Ukreximbank will pay for locomotives on terms of financial leasing with City Bank guarantees. Under the contract, Ukreximbank will transfer 100% of prepayment for General Electrics’ locomotives. Meanwhile, Ukrzaliznytsia will pay 30% of the advanced payment from the cost of diesel locomotives and then will make settlements with the Ukrainian bank.
