IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman said during 14th annual conference, organized by Dragon Capital, Ukrainian News reports.
“The current growth is more than insufficient”, he said.
Ljungman added that Ukraine needs to continue reforms, in particular, to approve the land and corporate governance reform in the public sector that will allow significantly accelerating GDP growth.
Meanwhile, Ljungman did not say how long Ukraine can live without IMF financing.
As Ukrainian News reported, IMF reminded Ukraine about the Anticorruption Court and the gas rate increase for population.
In the meantime, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Mary Jovanovich states that Ukraine risks receiving less funds for repaying loans.
In 2018, Ukraine should repay the debt to IMF, amounting to 43.8 bln hryvnias.
