Travelling to Europe to become easier for Ukrainians
As per the information on the EP official website, the European Parliament has ratified an agreement amending the agreement on simplification of visa regime between the EU and Ukraine.
From now on owners of Ukrainian biometric passports will be able to make short-term trips to the EU without obtaining a Schengen visa.
The Europarl also reports that under the new rules obtaining a visa will be made easier for representatives of NGOs, journalists, participants of various international events, as well as many other categories of Ukraine.
The agreement also details the rules for obtaining multivisas and their duration.
EU stresses that signing the agreement eliminates a €70 charge that was previously payable for expedited review status.
The agreement is to be signed in May 2013.
