The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has proposed to cancel the expertise in quality of particular food products, following the draft resolution passed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which specifies deregulation, RBK-Ukraine reports.
In particular, it has been proposed to declare null and void: Resolution of the CMU No.767, which came into force on November 1, 2014, expires on August 20, 2015, and promulgated through Law No.4179а, On Safety and Quality of Food Products.
The government officials noted that the said resolution does not meet the European best practices. “The procedure stipulated by Resolution of the CBU №767 enforcing to make quality checks of food products is absent in the EU countries”, - the presentation reveals.
Besides, the document says that such cancellation will allow businesses to reduce both official and unofficial fees and reinvest this money into the economy.
“On the experts’ opinion, informal fees paid for assuring food quality and avoiding fines that can be imposed by controlling authorities reach 4 thousand hryvnias. The number of food quality applications filed a year amount to 5-7 thousand pieces”, - the presentation says.
Thus, according to the government forecast, nullification of the particular food quality expertise will facilitate economic growth having increased investments by around 80-100 million hryvnias and reduce corruption by 20-50 million hryvnias.
