Borrowers have issued the smallest number of mortgage loans since September 2012
In February 2013 British lending institutions issued 51,653 mortgage loans, which is the smallest result since September 2012. At the same time, in January 2013 54,187 mortgages were granted, as reported by the Bank of England Press Office.
According to the financial institution, mortgage lending rose to £ 866 million in total.
As stated by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, the Treasury is going to provide £3.5 billion to help citizens purchase housing on mortgage. The Bank of England will also participate in solving this problem by seeking new lending schemes.
