Countries failed to cut their public debt
France, Spain and Slovenia may be facing economic sanctions from the European Union as their governments did not implement the necessary reforms and reduce their national debt.
29 May the European Commission is publishing the report on “macroeconomic imbalances”, and under the EU laws if the nations fail to address all shortcomings mentioned in such reports, a system of fines is imposed on them.
