Teheran refuses from dollar in oil sales.
The Oil Ministry of Iran states that it intends to run business in euros, yuans and other “strong” currencies, but not in dollars, Korrespondent.net reports.
“As there are some restrictions on us due to JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on regulation of nuclear program). We do not want to depend on dollar and circulation of dollar in the world”, Deputy to Oil Minister Massoud Hashemian Esfahani said.
It was previously reported that Iran concluded contract with settlement terms in euros with French company Total, Spanish oil and chemical corporation Cepsa and Lucoil’s trading subdivision – Litasco.
Most sanctions were lifted from Iran and this opened for Teheran an access to international banking system and possibility to purchase previously unavailable commodities, such as planes, automobiles, industrial equipment and pharmaceuticals.
