On Tuesday, President-Elect Donald Trump claimed that Japanese telecommunication and media corporation SoftBank will invest USD 50 billion in the United States and create 50 thousand new jobs. According to him, this would never happen if Trump lost at presidential elections, AmericaRU reports.
Trump shared this information after he had meeting with SoftBank’s Chief Executive Officer Masayoshi Son. “We will invest in start-up companies in the USA”, Son reported to the journalists in Trump Tower. Other details on the deal, for example, in which industry this money will be invested, or in which sector new jobs will be created, are not revealed.
In October, SoftBank announced about the creation of the fund, from which the money will be invested in the global technology sector. The company asserted that it will allocate 25 billion dollars throughout the next five years, while the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia promised to invest up to 45 billion dollars for the same period. During his trip to India last week, Son said that investors are likely to allocate the larger amount.
