United Kingdom will allocate money for fighting with corruption.
The government of the United Kingdom will finance several countries at once.
UK Department for International Development will allocate £100 mln to Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia and Bosnia for creation of “open government”. It is expected that allocated funds will be targeted at fighting against corruption. This information is indicated in UK government report, dedicated to security strategy, RT reports.
According to the report of Theresa May Administration, the authorities allocated a total of £60 mln in 2016-2017, 2017-18 FY and £40 mln in 2018-2019 FY to the Good Governance Fund. The Department for International Development, which also exists at the expense of British taxpayers, will transfer these funds to the Fund.
“The fund provides support to five targeted countries: Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia and Bosnia. It will help government of these countries to become more open and accountable”, according to the report.
Meanwhile, London considers that the creation of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in 2015 is its merit.
“The Fund supported the creation of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), which already conducted 200 investigations and 40 arrests”, as it is reported in the document.
