Calls within the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus will not be charged as roaming
Roaming within the Customs Union may be cancelled, announced the Minister of competition and antimonopoly regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Nurlan Aldabergenov, RBC daily informs.
In his speech in Irkutsk, N. Aldabergenov announced the formation of a working group to deal with the study of mobile market of the Customs Union. «We will keep working with cellular operators for the gradual cancellation of roaming», he said.
He noted that currently MTS operates in Russia and Belarus but the difference of roaming costs when calling from Russia is 48 times, from Belarus - 55 times. A similar situation, he said, is with Beeline - calls from Russia in the roaming are 28 times more expensive, from Kazakhstan - 21 times.
Nurlan Aldabergenov explained that inter-Union roaming may be canceled no earlier than competitive (antitrust) Code of the Common Economic Space is adopted establishing common rules for businesses and governments of the three countries, i.e. 3-4 years.
