The Senate voted for U.S. defense budget for 2018.
Only eight senators voted against.
U.S. Senate voted for this version of the draft law on the defense policy, totaling $700 bln, which is by $73 bln more than the last year’s defense budget, Correspondent.net reports quoting Voice of America.
“By this, U.S. legislators supported President Donald Trump’s intention to increase defense expenditures and U.S. military aid. Simultaneously, the senators created the conditions for political struggles regarding the level of this year’s public expenditure”, according to the message.
As the voting continues, 79 senators supported the increase of defense expenditures. Eight senators voted against.
The draft law on the national defense in 2018 sets the level of defense expenditures and control policy over spending these funds.
