U.S. Secretary of State blamed Russia for negative influence over the regime of non-proliferation of mass destruction weapon.
Delivering his speech in UN Security Council, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stated that Russia violates the Treatyon the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (ISRM) and negatively influences the regime of non-proliferation of mass destruction weapon, Interfax reports.
“Unfortunately, within the last years, Russia often acted so that it weakened global norms (in terms of non-proliferation) and undermined efforts on holding the countries liable”, Tillerson noted.
According to him, Russia’s violation of “its own obligations under ISRM agreement, non-observance of security guarantees, which were given after Cold War” serves as an example for it.
The Secretary of State noted that Moscow attempts to “weaken IAEA’s independence in investigation of concealed nuclear programs”.
