Twitter verifies the accounts of social media.
About 450 accounts, which Facebook previously mentioned in its investigation, were verified, Correspondent.net reports.
Twitter reported that it closed about 100 accounts in its social media due to the investigation of RF interference with U.S. presidential elections in 2016.
The company’s statement notes that about 450 accounts, which Facebook previously mentioned in its investigation, were verified, and it was found out that 22 out of them are linked to Twitter accounts.
These 22 accounts were blocked for “violation of our rules, mainly for violation of spam bans”.
“In addition, through these accounts we found other 179 accounts, related and connected with them, and applied measures to them for violation of our rules”, the company informed.
According to Twitter, neither of accounts was registered in social media as advertising. The investigation of this case is continuing.

It should be reminded that previously Facebook stated that during U.S. presidential run, the Russian bots purchased adverts in social media to impact the outcome of elections. Later, Zuckerberg reported that he will send all found adverts to the Congress.
