McDonald’s Corp., the world largest fast-food restaurant network, intends to reduce the number of management levels for simplifying its corporate structure and saving funds, The Wall Street Journal, which familiarized with the internal note of President of USA at McDonalds Corporation Christopher J. Kempczinski, finance.ua reports quoting Ukrinform.
According to the note, the number of management levels from consultants to CEO Steve Eastbrook will be reduced from eight to six.
“I understand that the changes will be difficult and will signify the dismissal of some employees”, C. Kempczinski said. He did not specify the possible scale of future downsizing in the company, at which 235 ths people work worldwide.
This measure is designated to further achievement of the goal on reducing administrative spending, amounting to $500 mln by 2019.
Therefore, McDonald’s plans to raise its competitiveness on U.S. market, where it is increasingly difficult for it to compete with Burger King and Wendy’s, offering discounts and promotions.
Within three months, the company’s capital increase increased by 7.8% to $127.5 bln.
