Ukraine has reportedly taken the 58th place upon results of the e-commerce global ranking made by the UNCTAD at UN General Assembly, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
Evaluation results reflecting e-commerce efficiency measured in 130 world countries show that Ukraine has been ranked the 58th, taking the place between the Dominican Republic and Armenia. The UN analysts applied the e-commerce penetration rate that depends on four core indicators: use of Internet-based resources, level of security, prevalence of credit cards, and quality of postal services.
All in all, the authors of the case studies acknowledged that developing economies will gradually increase their share in the worldwide e-commerce market, and by 2018, 40% of the Internet-based trade will take place outside the developed countries. Especially, the countries with larger population, such as China (65th place), Brazil (47th) and Russia (50th), are promptly developing,
For today, Luxembourg, Norway and Finland are taking the lead in scoring. In addition, the top ten include Canada, Australia, and South Korea. The USA holds the 15th place.
