A new cyber police is about to be launched in Ukraine, the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov wrote in his Facebook.
“From now, using Internet and its opportunities you can receive police aid in the online environment”, Avakov wrote.
Seven main tasks of cyber police:
In the sphere of using payment systems:
- Skimming – illegal copying of the contents of tracks of magnetic strip (chips) of bank cards;
- Cash trapping – cash theft from the ATM via installing the special grip pad on ATM tent;
- Carding – illegal financial transactions with usage of the payment card or its details, which were not initiated or not confirmed by its holder.
- Unauthorized debiting of funds from bank accounts via remote banking systems.
In the sphere of e-commerce and business activities:
- Phishing – attempt to acquire from users their usernames and passwords to e-wallets, services of online auctions, currency transfer and exchange etc.
- Online fraud - the acquisition of funds of citizens through online auctions, online shops, sites and telecommunications.
In the sphere of intellectual property:
- Piracy – illegal distribution of intellectual property in the Internet;
- Card-sharing – granting the unauthorized access to satellite and cable TV;
In the sphere of the informational security:
- Social engineering – technology of people management in the web space;
- Malware – creation and distribution of viruses and malware;
- Illegal content – content, which promotes and advocates the extremism, terrorism, drug addiction, porn, cruelty and violence;
- Refiling – illegal replacement of telephone traffic.
The procedure of creation (transitional stage):
The start of the enlistment to cyber police and detailed conditions of competition will be announced since October 15.
From October 26 the attestation competition for all future cyber policemen will start.
Until November 5 the cyber police staff will be formed and start the final transitional stage of building the new functionality of cyber police and staff requalification on the march.
