Hundreds of criminal cases have been initiated against the runaway president of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych and his subordinates, committing economic frauds, as it was said by the Prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine Vladislav Kutsenko to “Radio Svoboda”, “Facts and Comments” reports.
“These are hundreds of criminal proceedings, these are just hundreds, involving Yanukovych and persons, whom he gave orders. You understand that he was the president. We have one interesting article – abuse of influence”. We should look at it very carefully. The official worked under him, - he said.
In the meantime Kutsenko explained that the continuous investigation of these cases is connected with difficulties of collection of evidence for court proceeding.
“These crimes were committed without operational escorting by law enforcement. Actually it was conspiracy of silence, no bugging, no video surveillance. Today if the application is submitted to us that the official or district chief is corrupt, then we start bugging his phone”, said the prosecutor.
It should be noted that previously the US newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” reported that the European Union considers the possibility of cancellation of sanctions, imposed towards President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych and his cabinet.
