New spots included into Kyiv Free Wi-Fi network
Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Ruslan Kramarenko announced that the network of free Internet access Kyiv Free Wi-Fi has two new facilities: Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University and the station square near the main railway station, reports the KCSA’s press service.
«At each of the objects we equipped about 20 access points. We can already say that the project has succeeded. Permanent number of users in Kiev is about 120 thousand people regularly using free internet Wi-Fi, 75% of them go online from their smartphones, we estimate this makes approximately 10% of all smartphone users in Kyiv «, says Ruslan Kramarenko.
The network has about 150 GB of daily average traffic. User speed is still limited at 2 Mbit per second.
In 2012 free Wi-Fi appeared on Khreschatyk, Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Lva Tolstoho Square and Shevchenko Park.
