Shipbuilder owes $240 thousand
Biprostal, an engineering company, filed a claim to the District Court for Gdańsk (Poland) in late June to declare bankruptcy of Gdansk Shipyard, part of the «Industrialny Soyuz Donbassa» (ISD) due to the debt of $ 240 thousand, «Kommersant-Ukraine» writes.
ISD Polska’s spokesman Jacek Lensky admitted that the company does owe to Biprostal 800 thousand zlotys ($ 241 thousand) for reimbursement of building one of the shipyard’s workshops.
This year the shipyard has faced some five similar lawsuits from other companies, said the manager. According to him, these claims were settled out of court. «For us the amount we owe to Biprostal is not critically large; currently we are negotiating with them,» says Jacek Lensky. Yesterday Biprostal did not give any comments on the situation.
Gdańsk Shipyard is one of the largest shipyards in Poland, specializing in the construction of automobile and container vessels, as well as steel structures and towers for wind energy. ISD Polska, a subsidiary of ISD of Sergey Taruta and Oleg Mkrtchan, owns 75.01% of the shipyard, another 24.99% belong to the Polish State Agency for Industry Development (ARP).
