New tablets and PC introduced at the launch event
Apple unveiled a new generation of tablets and PCs at an official presentation. The presentation focused on iPad Air tablet and a new Mac Pro.
Producers stressed on new iPad Air’s extra light and slim frame, being 28% lighter and 20% thinner (only 7.5 mm) compared to the previous generation. The gadget is powered by A7 processor and runs on iOS 7.
iPad Air goes on sale 1 November 2013 with prices starting at $499.
The launch also featured an updated iPad Mini with Retina display that, same as its predecessors, runs on Apple iOS 7 and A7 processor. In addition, the tablet will sell with pre-installed apps iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers and Keynote. The prices will start at $399 (depending on the capacity).
Apart from tablets, Apple also revealed Mac Pro - the most powerful desktop computer ever produced. It is equipped with quad-core processor clocked at 3.7 GHz, 12 GB RAM, two graphics chips FirePro D300 (2GB VRAM each ), and SSD drive with 256 GB capacity, which is expected to cost $2999, and also comes with 6-core processor.
