The third stage of priority registration in the domain .UKR is finished

4 December, started the next - fourth stage. The chairman of the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Informatization Volodymyr Semynozhenko provided the information, according to the press service of the Ministry.

"Already 1570 domain names are registered in the domain .UKR, including 77 – non-profit. The process continues, now is time for the fourth in fifth phases of the priority registration", - said the Head of SASII.

The fourth step allowed registration of domain names in the .UKR for:

- names registered in Ukraine in accordance with the laws of intellectual property, the name of which is an integral part of the intellectual property rights referred to in the documents as to their registration, including the names of famous works (literary works, films, songs etc.)

- full or abbreviated commercial (proprietary) names that are registered in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and listed in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, without specifying the names of legal forms;

- names of famous people who have made significant contributions to world culture and other areas of social life and/or whose achievements are recognized by mankind and whose activities are directly related to Ukraine.

In the fourth stage, priority registration of domain names in the .UKR also continue to register domain names based on criteria identified in previous phases, such as brands (trademarks and service), geographical indication of origin of goods, names of geographical features and regions of Ukraine (cities, towns, etc., to the regional centers and towns in regional centers that have names that are not repeated), the name of the state(s) of the world and international entities, names of international organizations, the names of government bodies and local authorities and others.
