“The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №869 dd. October 21, 2015 on traffic ban for transport vehicles, having the actual weight of more than 40 tons or the axle weight - more than 11 tons (for container vehicles – more than 46 tons) on general use motor roads has been published”, the government press-service reports.
It is reported that the resolution also imposes restrictions on traffic on general use motor roads for trucks with the actual weight of more than 24 tons (or axle weight - more than 7 tons).
“In the nearest time Ukravtodor and State Road Service of Ukraine will release information on new restrictions on the official sites of departments and mark roads in all regions of Ukraine,” states the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Currently the strict rules will start to apply; for efficient control we significantly increase fine sanctions for violations; we are building the chain of 200 points of automatic car weight check as well as purchase 100 mobile weight complexes. Since 2016 a new transport inspection of UkrtransBezpeka will start working and will use modern means of video shooting and weight checking “on the go” and consequently will ensure the strict compliance with weight norms”, - emphasized the Head of Roads and Vehicles Strategic Development Department Roman Khmel.
