In U.S., unknown persons sent envelopes with toxic ricin by mail to White House and Pentagon.
In U.S., unknown persons sent the envelope with poison to President Donald Trump, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday, October 2.
"It is assumed that the envelope, intended for Trump, contained toxic ricin", a statement says.
It is noted that White House did not receive the envelope. It was qualified as "suspicious" in the mail office, so the FBI took the envelope for inspection.
Reportedly, Pentagon received two such packages - two ricin envelopes. It is noted that the initial tests confirmed the content of the poison.
U.S. officials believe these two incidents may be related.
Earlier in Belgium, the National Bank was evacuated due to a suspicious envelope.
It was also reported that unknown persons sent envelopes filled with white powder to U.S. and Israel embassies, located in Germany.
