“We are one of the main oil transporters from U.S. to China. Before starting trade war, things were going well, but now, everything totally stopped”, - President of China Merchants Energy Shipping Co (CMES) Se-Chun Lin said on the sidelines of the industry conference in Hong Kong.
According to the Energy Information Administration, last year, U.S. crude oil exports to China exceeded the total volume of supplies to UK and Netherlands, which are the third and fourth largest U.S. importers.
It should be reminded that since September 24, new customs tariffs, amounting to 10%, on Chinese goods, imported to U.S., the total value of which is 200 billion dollars, became effective.
Previously, for the first time, Washington introduced secondary sanctions against military officials from China for cooperation with Russia.
Amidst the recent events, Beijing denied to conduct trade consultations with U.S. party.
